Chloe's First Dentist Visit

Chloe went to the dentist today,  She did a great job!  She did everything they asked of her.  She loved getting her teeth cleaned.  There were NO cavities...yeah!  She also got to pick out a new toothbrush and a prize out of the prize box.  She chose a new princess crown as her prize.

Today's Recital Practice

Well, 4 weeks to go until the big recital! Here is some video of Chloe's recent ballet/tap class. How do you think they are doing? Recitals at this age are all about the costume anyway, right? :)

They are doing better each week.  The next dance video I will be posting will be of her recital on JUNE 7TH, so you will get to see how far they have come since today!!

Happy 1st Birthday, Lorenzo!!

Lorenzo turned ONE yesterday.  He had a great time at his birthday party as did everyone else!

He's not a baby anymore...especially with his new big boy haircut!

Happy Birthday, Lorenzo!!

My NEW hair.....or really my OLD hair!!

I went and had my highlights taken out of my hair!  My hair seems so dark now!!  I have not seen it this way in many, many years.  I am really loving it, though!!

It is going to be sooo much easier now!  I won't have to schedule 2-3 hour appointments every couple of months, and it won't matter when my hair starts to grow out, because it will grow in the same color!  I will also have alot more money now, so maybe I'll just go spend the money I would have spent on my hair on a new Coach purse instead!! :)

Dancing Around the House

The past few months, Chloe and Kyle have really gotten into dancing around everyday.  Chloe has always been one to dance anytime she hears a song.  Kyle started to imitate her dance moves, but now he has some moves that he can call his own.

Here's some video of them dancing!

Big Helper Chloe!

Chloe is so great with Kyle.  She is always wanting to help me do things with him, so today I let her feed him.  It made it easier on me!!  I should have been catching up on things instead of videoing the whole thing, but it was just so cute that I couldn't help myself!!  He sure enjoyed it, too!

New Braunfels Trip!

Our trip to New Braunfels this past weekend was a blast! It was so nice to just have a couple of days away and recharge!! We went there with our friends Tiffany and Ryan. It was the first weekend away for us since Kyle was born.
We shopped, visited a winery, and ate ALOT of food! The best part was being able to sleep in and not be on a schedule!

It was a good first trip away since it wasn't too far from home. My mom and dad kept the kids at our house, and it went very well.

We'll get away again....hopefully it won't take a year and a half the next time!

The Inevitable Bump on the Head

Well, we were praying we would get through the clumsy first months of walking with both kiddos without either getting a major bump on the head......but, Kyle showed us this morning what so many others tell us about with their kids! He fell right smack into the corner of the coffee table leg! He has had so many close calls, but this one was the real thing! He wasn't even running this time like he is so many other times. He was just walking and then tripped! I felt terrible! We called the doc, and did what he said by putting ice on it, checking for signs of a concussion every couple hours, and keeping him up awhile. He had not had a nap yet and was wanting to go to sleep so bad, but everytime we put that ice on his head, he woke right up!
Chloe was able to get through those first months without any big falls. She was always so careful! Guess that is one difference I am learning about with having one of each!

Chloe and Kyle have been different on so many levels. Chloe was turning pages and looking at books on her own when she was 9 months old! Kyle will look at books with me, but he could care less about looking at them on his own! He is much more interested in turning the wheels on cars, trucks, trains, ect... Teething is another thing that they have been so opposite. Chloe did not have pain or fevers with her teeth cutting.....all of a sudden she would have one. So, this whole fever everytime Kyle cuts a new tooth is all new...well, I guess it's not anymore! He has had over a 100 degree fever off and on since Friday afternoon. I did not know what it was, so I took him to the doctor on Saturday morning. The doctor said that it might be a virus of some kind and to just watch him the next couple of days. Last night, I saw a huge tooth poking through! I am pretty sure that is what was making him so miserable this weekend (that is, until this morning's knock on the head)! Poor thing...he is getting his first molar. He gets his teeth all out of order! With eating...Chloe was so neat. She would take a bite at a time and not drop hardly any. Kyle just starts throwing everything off his tray right when I put it on there (that's why our dog is overweight right now and is on a diet). With sleeping...Chloe was consistently sleeping through the night at 2 months old. Kyle was 9 months old before he was consistently sleeping through the night. I breastfed him until 9 months, so I know he probably just wanted me each night.

It is so fun to watch how unique they both are. It is also fun to see how Kyle just naturally goes towards cars and trucks even with all of Chloe's dolls and barbies out everywhere for him to play with. We have enjoyed every minute of watching them both grow!

Now...we just hope that we are able to potty-train him in one week like we did with Chloe. With them being so different, I doubt that will happen!

Well, off I go to do some furniture moving so that this hopefully won't happen again.

Happy Birthday, Everett!

Everett had a great birthday even though it did not start out that way.  He got a flat tire on the way to Oklahoma this morning.  He did make it back home tonight, and we were able to go out to eat!  Rachel came over to watch the kids so that we could take our time.

His "cake" this year was one of those big decorated cookies!  It was yummy!  Chloe kept wanting to go over to it and smell it!  I finally told her that if she would sing Happy Birthday to her daddy, then I would cut her a piece of cookie.  Here's the video of her singing to him!

Happy 34th Birthday!

Easter 2008

Kyle and Chloe before church on March 22nd.

We started our Easter celebration yesterday by going to Easter service at Fellowship Church. We had not been there in awhile, but we always enjoy the services when we do go. We had been trying out another church, but a few weeks ago when we went, we got turned away, because they were too full. I did not like being told I could not go to church, but if they didn't have room, then there was nothing we could do about it. We just have not gone back to that church since then.

Back to Easter....

Chloe and Kyle woke up on Easter morning and found out the Easter Bunny had hidden baskets for them. Chloe had fun looking for it, and she had even more fun opening all the eggs and finding out what was in them!

We went down to Everett's parent's house for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Last year, Chloe had a head start since her 8 cousins are older and expert egg hunters. She ended up getting the most eggs (and money), so this year she started out with all of them. Rachel, Tony and Lorenzo also came down there for Easter. Easter dinner was Crawfish! Rachel and I don't eat crawfish, so we ate other snacks instead.

EASTER BUNNY

Well, we made it to see the Easter Bunny today. Let me tell you......This was not the same person in that Easter Bunny costume that was there 2 years ago! It wasn't a very enthusiastic Bunny. I think he/she was taking a nap for a few minutes while we were waiting in line...seriously! He didn't move for awhile, and then he finally looked up and stretched his arms out. Chloe was so excited, but when we got there, she did not want to go sit by him. Everett went over to her and told her it was ok, because the Easter Bunny was sleeping. The Bunny nodded his head, so I guess we thought right! We did get the picture, though. What a deal! ha! $12 for a 5x7 picture of a sleepy Easter Bunny, a crying one year old and a not-too-happy three year old!

Talking?!?

Kyle is really trying to communicate with us!  The "real" words that he says are dada, daddy, mama, no-no, and mi (milk).  Everything else sounds like a different language.  It is so cute!  He has facial expressions and moves his hands when talking.  We have no idea what he is saying, but he sure seems like he knows.  We hear alot of da-ca-da-ca talk! :)  Here are some video clips of Kyle talking!!  I'll add more video as he continues to express himself!  ENJOY!

Chloe and Kyle's First Snowman!

WHAT A DAY!  It looked like a blizzard outside today.  There was lots of snow, then rain, then snow with thunder....don't think I have heard that before.  I can't remember seeing flakes that big either.  Chloe kept wanting to check on her tricycle to see how much snow was on it.   I am glad we did not have to be out on the roads......we just stayed in and watched it come down!

After Chloe and Kyle took their naps, we went out to build a snowman.  Today's snow was the perfect snowman building snow!  We counted 4 snowmen and a snow fort on our street.  All of the kids had a great time!  Everett even made it home early to play in it.

Birthday Party!

Chloe and Kyle had a great time at their birthday party on Saturday, the 23rd!  Saturday was Chloe's real 3rd birthday.  Kyle turned 1 last Saturday.
It was a beautiful day, so the kids had fun playing with bubbles and balls outside.  Inside, they played with legos, blocks and making playdough birthday cakes.  They also made picture frames and played "Put the Hat on Kyle" and "Put the Bow on Chloe".  For weeks, Chloe has talked about blowing out her own candles, and when it came time for her to blow out the candles, she did a great job!  Kyle's favorite part was eating the ICE CREAM!

Click on the video to see all the fun!!

Chloe wrote her name!

Chloe wrote her name all by herself today!  I was so proud of her!  She was busy over there marking on her new markerboard.  She said "Look Mama, it's Chloe!"  I thought maybe she had drawn a picture of herself, but when I went over there, I saw that she had written her name!  I told her not to touch it while I went to go get the camera!!

Happy 1st Birthday, Kyle!!

Kyle turned ONE yesterday! We sang Happy Birthday to him as he woke up in the morning. I got it on video, and if I figure out how to put the video on here, then I will post it! He was very excited and was jumping up and down in his crib. Last night, Rachel, Tony and Lorenzo came over. We had take-out Snuffer's hamburgers and cake. We didn't do much birthday celebrating today. Kyle and Chloe will have their real party next weekend!

Valentine's Day!

Chloe decorating her Valentine bag!

Kyle loves the wheels on everything.  He turns anything with wheels on it's side and just turns and turns them!!

Happy Valentine's Day!  We had a great day!  Chloe had a Valentine party at school and also went to a friend's house for a party!  It was a no-nap day, but both kids did very well!  It was a day full of sugar, so we made sure we brushed those little teeth extra good!!

DOODLEBOPS Concert!

My mom and I took Chloe to see the DOODLEBOPS on February 2nd. It was fun watching her sing the songs and dance in the aisle. She told us that her favorite parts were "Dee-Dee, Mo, Rooney, watching dancing, singing, eating popcorn!"

Kyle's First Pro Haircut

BEFORE

AFTER!!

Kyle had his first haircut on Saturday, January 26th. He was so good! We gave him a sucker to eat to keep his mind off of what was going on. I couldn't imagine he would look any cuter than he did before, but he sure does look handsome!

Kyle is 11 months old!

Kyle turned 11 months old today, January 16th! He is growing so fast and doing so many new things every time we turn around. His newest milestone is WALKING! He has been taking a few steps here and there for a couple of weeks, but he now walks across the room without falling! Here is the monthly pic in the rocking chair. It is not as easy to take this picture as it was the first few months. He kept wanting to leap out of the chair every time I got ready to take it!

Our cousin, Madison, turned 5 on the 1st, and we went to her birthday party last weekend. Chloe had a great time! We hope you had a great birthday, Madison!
