January 2009

Chloe took this picture of us!

Our 2009 January in Review:

31. We had all free cable channels all month long!

30. Chloe finally decided she wants a princess birthday party at home.

29. At work, I had 11 meetings and completed 5 evaluations.

28. Chloe knows the 12 months of the year!

27. Kyle is now in 24 month-2T clothes and wears a size 6-7 shoe.

26. Played on a Wii for the first time with Dana, Steve, Tiffany and Ryan! Very fun!

25. Everett started playing on 2 soccer teams again.

24. Kyle has a big boy bed!

23. Chloe is now in 4T clothes and wears a size 9 shoe.

22. Every morning, Kyle and Chloe want to eat their daddy's breakfast even if it is the same as what I fixed them. It just tastes so much better when it is on daddy's plate!

21. Everett and I both had a cold for a few days, and the kiddos somehow managed to stay well!

20. We stuffed Nay.

19. Kyle now says he is "sorry" when he yells or pushes someone.

18. We went to Captain Nemo's with Rachel, Tony, Julie and Louie.

17. Kyle now says 3-4 word phrases and sentences, and people can understand him!

16. We all went to visit Granny

15. Chloe's favorite comment: "You're so silly!"

14. I turned in 2009-2010 preschool enrollment forms for both Chloe and Kyle. It is hard to believe that they will both be in preschool next year!

13. Chloe and I saw the movie, Hotel for Dogs, with Cousin Madison and Aunt Brenda!

12. Chloe painted my nails! She painted her grandma's nails, too!!

11. Homer turned 3 years old!

10. Chloe spells her last name and wants to start to write it.

9. Two "ICE" days off from work even though one of them was not very icy.

8. Kyle sat in the barber chair all by himself and got his hair cut like a big boy!

7. Chloe completed 40 piece floor puzzles by herself.

6. Everett and I went on 2 dates to Uncle Buck's Steakhouse.

5. I attended my first parent-teacher conference with me being on the parent side this time!

4. Chloe can do a cartwheel!

3. Kyle's favorite sentence: "Have a nice day!"

2. We are thankful to have 2 children who look forward to going to bed. We must really wear them out!

AND the #1 thing in January: Kyle went tee-tee in the potty 7 times the last couple of weeks...potty training a boy might not be as hard as I thought it would be.

January was mild compared to the whirlwind of the holidays!

I already know February will be busier with planning 2 birthday parties!

Chloe's Lamb, Nay

Chloe's special stuffed animal is named Nay. Nay has been her favorite even before her first birthday! We aren't sure why she gave him that name.....we think maybe she mixed up her lamb and horse sounds when she was younger, and "neigh" became NAY!

Here are some pictures of Chloe with Nay a few years ago.

JULY 2005: Chloe with all her lambs when she was 5 months old. I think she already had a preference for Nay at that time....She is holding Nay's leg.

NOVEMBER 2005: Everett, Chloe and Nay

DECEMBER 2005: Chloe and Nay....Chloe always wanted Nay in the highchair with her, and she would even try to feed Nay her food!

APRIL 2006: Chloe (14 months old) and Nay

MAY 2006: Grandma, Chloe and Nay

Before Chloe was 2 years old, she pulled most of Nay's stuffing out. I checked on her one day during her nap, and the stuffing was all over the floor. I stitched up the hole where she had taken out the stuffing. She loved him anyway, and it never really bothered her.

During the past few months, she has asked to put some stuffing back in Nay. We finally went to Hobby Lobby today and bought a bag of it. I made a little hole in Nay, and Chloe went to work on stuffing him!

She is very excited to be able to take her lamb to school tomorrow. Her class is bringing things that start with the letter "L". We had to fix him up for the big show-and-tell.

Big Boy Room!

Kyle is now in a big boy room!!  He has been sleeping in a full size bed since December 14th!!  He has adjusted much better than we thought he would!

Here are a couple of before pictures of his baby room!

Here are the pictures of his room now!

We transformed his crib into a full size bed.  If you look at the front of the crib in the top picture, then you'll be able to tell it is at the foot of the bed now.

Goodnight, Kyle VIDEO!

Everett and his mom on Christmas Day!

Christmas was so much fun this year! The kids had a great time with everyone!

On Wednesday morning, the 24th, Chloe and I went to the hospital to visit our new twin cousins! Hayden and Molly were born on Sunday, the 21st. They are very cute babies! Congratulations to Cousin Brandon, his wife Heather and our cousin, Madison, who is the new big sister! They were getting ready to head on home that morning, so their Christmas Eve was definitely going to be spent at home this year with the new babies. While we were at the hospital, we were able to visit my friend, Lyndi, who had a baby boy on Tuesday morning. She was only a few doors down from where my cousin's family was. Congratulations to Lyndi and Chase!

We spent Christmas Eve with my family. We went over to my parent's house, had dinner, watched some old Christmas home videos and opened presents. Rachel, Tony and Lorenzo came over to join us! We went home about 9:30 that night.

My parents and sister, Elaine, came over on Christmas morning at 7:30. They were there in time to watch the kiddos go in and see what Santa had left them! They had a very fun time playing with their new toys!

We went over to Everett's parents later that day on Christmas Day! Chloe and Kyle played with and watched all their cousins! Even though their cousins are so much older, Chloe and Kyle now have fun playing with them since they are able to communicate with them a little more!

It was a fun Christmas, and I think as Kyle gets more excited this next year....next year's Christmas will be even more fun!

Chloe's Christmas Singing!

Chloe sang to us on Christmas Eve!  She had practiced in the car for a few days and said she wanted to sing for everyone.  I finally figured out where the song came from....The Polar Express movie!  She would not start singing until everyone was in front watching her!  She did such a good job of singing to us!

I will post more about our 2008 Christmas a little later!

Preschool Christmas Party

(I think Chloe finished her cupcake before anyone else started eating!)

Unwrap the Present (tissue box)

Snowflake Ornaments!  (They LOVED the glitter!)

Musical Book Exchange

Chloe's class had their Christmas party today at school. All the kids had a very fun time eating cupcakes, playing games and making snowflake ornaments! Chloe's favorite part was the Musical Book Exchange. The book she chose to open was called Ten Christmas Lights.

I was helping out with the party, so I didn't take many pictures, but here are a few that I did take!

2008 Santa Visit

We went to see Santa this evening at the Gaylord!

Chloe was so excited to see him.  She whispered to Santa what she wanted for Christmas.  She looked so cute snuggled up against Santa while the picture was being taken.

Kyle was not as enthused by it.  He had a great time running around the place, but when it came time to sit on Santa's lap, he didn't want a part of that.  We were finally able to get him to sit there and take a few pictures.

We then took pictures while the kids ran around!
