Port Aransas 2011

We headed to Port Aransas with the 3 kiddos. We weren't sure how the 7 hour drive would go, but it was much better than what we thought it might be. We left at 3 am on August 1st. The kids fell right back to sleep when we got in the car. They woke up around 7:00...we got breakfast at a drive-thru around 8:00, they watched some cartoons on the DVD player, and by that time we were almost there! Carissa slept well and was in a great mood when she was awake. Pretty easy!!

The kids played on the beach Monday afternoon and most of the day Tuesday and Wednesday.

We stayed until August 4th. We had planned to leave about 9 am that morning, but Carissa had difficulty getting to sleep, and everytime we did get her to sleep and put her down, she would wake up. She had a stuffy nose and wasn't feeling well, so she was having a hard time breathing when lying down. After 2 hours of carrying her around while she tried to sleep, I suggested to Ev that we might as well go and get a head start on the drive. I knew we wouldn't be getting any sleep that night with her waking up and us walking her around. Ev started packing at 2 am and we were in the car ready to go by 3 am.

Chloe and Kyle loved playing on the beach! They already want to go back! We thought we might try to go a little further to another beach on the next trip.

FIVE Months Old!

Carissa turned 5 months old on August 1st! We all love spending time with her! She gets so much attention!:)

Weight: 17.5 lbs

Chewing on everything....Teething!!!

She loves being outside. Anytime she is tired and crying, we take her outside and she stops. She also loves being held most of the time!

Schedule:

She is not on much of a daytime schedule. She catnaps all the time, but she doesn't take real naps during the day like Chloe and Kyle did. All their activities with taking and picking them up disturb her schedule. I guess a third child just tries to go with the flow!

Nighttime schedule changed right after she turned 4 months. She was sleeping all night until about 5:00, but then she decided she wanted to start waking up at 1:00 and 4:00 every night. If she doesn't stop crying, Everett goes in there at 1:00 to put the pacifier in her mouth. When she wakes at 4:00, I feed her and she goes back to sleep until about 8:30.

Summer is going by way too fast! We have had so much fun!

Rolling Over!

We finally got Carissa rolling over on camera! She always seems to do it when the camera is not on. She rolled over a few days ago....almost 5 months old. She rolled about a month later than Chloe and Kyle...probably because she has a little more weight to roll over than they did!

Rangers Game

We went to the Rangers game on Saturday, July 23rd. Everett's work had a Suite for us to watch the game in. Chloe and Kyle had a very fun time!

KYLE'S Special Day!

8:45....Before we left! We ate breakfast at home, because Kyle said he wanted "at-home" waffles!

9:00....We went to Target to get a toy! Kyle's favorites right now are the Imaginext toys!

10:00: Legoland!

The 4D theater was very fun!

We stopped by the Lego store before we left and got something new for us to build at home.:)

12:00: I forgot to take a picture at the candy store, but we did make it by to get jellybeans!

12:30: McDonalds to play and eat!

1:00: Yogurt Story. His favorite is the Orange...of course!

1:30: We got to the park, but he was too hot and tired to play! He wanted to go home to play with his new toys!

Fun in the Pool!

We have put Carissa in the pool a couple of times, and she loves the water!:)

FOUR Months Old!

Carissa has been so much fun! She smiles and laughs at us all the time!:)

She eats every 3-4 hours and sleeps from 8pm-4am! She will eat and then go back to sleep until 8:30am. We love our schedule and so does she!

She is almost rolling over...she hasn't made it all the way over yet....except for that one time a couple of months ago when she accidentally rolled over when she was upset!

She went to the doctor last week and her current stats are:

Weight: 16 lbs, 15 oz (97%)

Length: 24 in (50%)

We are blessed with a very happy baby!
