We took this picture right before we left for the hospital at 5:20 am on March 1, 2011. We wonder whether baby is a boy or a girl. Waiting to find out has been such a fun experience!
It is now 7:40 am, and we are just waiting to be taken down to the operating room where I will have a c-section. About this time, I started getting very nervous. We took pictures to help pass the time.
Here she is! 8:32 am! This is Carissa Taylor Zeller. She weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long.

About 4:00 that afternoon, Carissa was taken to the NICU, because she was still having some difficulty with breathing. During the C-section, she had gotten some fluid in her lungs. We knew this was something that was common with c-sections, but we were able to bypass that part with the other kids, so this was our first experience with the NICU. She stayed in the NICU for close to 24 hours. We would go down there and visit her every few hours. I also had to pump milk for her and have the nurses take it to her. We missed her during that time, but we knew she was getting the best possible care.
Carissa was back in our room by the time the kids came to see her on Wednesday afternoon. They were so excited to see their little sister again!

On Friday morning about 11:00, we got ready to go home. We were home by noon that day!
Carissa was born at 8:32 am on March 1, 2011. She has been a very sweet and happy baby so far! She does not cry much, but she does love to be held, so that is probably why she is content most of the time! She is doing a little better at nights, but it changes from day to day. Hopefully, we can get on some kind of schedule within the next month. Chloe and Kyle love to spend time with her. Chloe holds her all the time, and Kyle's favorite part is watching her diaper changing and then taking the diaper to the Diaper Genie! They have both been great with her!

What a great blog entry! I love all the pictures and she sure looks like a Zeller...no hospital baby switch for sure! Sorry to hear she made a trip to the NICU- am sure that was so scary. I cannot wait to see her, (finally getting over flu and then bronchitis.)
Congratulations, Zellers! She is such a BEAUTIFUL baby! I'm so glad to hear everyone is doing well. I'm so happy for you guys!
