Chloe's HAIR

Chloe wakes up with what we call her "bird's nest" in her hair every morning. We have tried leave-in conditioner and detangler, but it always seems to get this way during the night. It is always in one particular spot...the rest of her hair is very smooth and easy to comb. Let me know if you have any other ideas that might help!

Our Sweet Grandma

Here is Grandma in November 2007.

Grandma had 3 children, 7 grand children, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Here she is in November 2008 with 3 of her great-grandkids: Kyle, Madison and Chloe.

My grandma (my dad's mom) passed away last night. She was 93. She was such a special person, and I have so many wonderful memories of her.

We loved to play games, and she was the one who taught me how to play Skip-Bo, Crazy 8's and Dominoes.

I always slept on their couch when I was younger, and she would wake me up in the morning by singing to me.

Visiting them during most of my Spring Breaks!

We would watch the Family Fued at night and eat Little Debbie Nutty Bars.

We would go shopping for hours! She had a lot of energy.

She made the best fried okra!

Taking walks around the cemetery they lived by.

I always loved looking through her big box of pictures. She would sit with me and tell me who everyone was.

Until just a couple of years ago, we would always catch eachother up on what was happening on the soap operas. We wondered if the other thought the same on what would happen next.

I remember her loving Total cereal for breakfast, and I loved eating it with her.

She would make us coke floats!

I will always remember that fun exercise machine she had in her bedroom...some kind of machine where you stand up and put the roller band around your waist. We had years of fun with it!

There are so many more! Love her and miss her so much!

I am devoting  a whole blog post to my mom. She has been so great to us these past 4 years!!

I work part-time, and she has come over to our house to take care of the kids on the days I work since they were born.

We are so thankful to her! She hears it from both of us all the time, but I am not sure if she really realizes how much she means to us and how grateful we are to have her help us.

For the coming school year, I have hopefully arranged my work schedule to be when the kids are in preschool.  Although she will not be keeping Chloe and Kyle during the week, I know we will see grandma and grandpa often on the weekends.

Enjoy the pictures and video of mom with our children.

So cute....Chloe Rocking Kyle!

I just had to post this...I thought it was so sweet!

I was putting some clothes away, and when I came back in the room, I found Chloe rocking Kyle to sleep.  He loves his big sister so much and loves the attention she gives to him.  I know this is just what she wanted...she is always playing little mommy to him, and he was giving into it this time.

Kyle is an active little guy!  It is very rare that we see him this calm with Chloe, so I was happy to get it on video!

Kyle's Swimming

Kyle is doing much better with moving his arms and legs when swimming.  He has also made improvements with pulling himself up to the surface of the water.

Here is some video of Kyle 2 weeks ago and some of him swimming tonight.  Everett has worked with him so much, and I can see it is starting to really pay off!

Happy Father's Day!

This is Everett with the kids right before bedtime last night!

Here's my dad with one of my sisters, Elaine, me and Chloe.

Happy Father's Day!

We spent the day at our house with my side of the family.  We cooked out and watched the kids swim.  It was a very hot day...we did not stay out very long.

We were also without water from 1:30 pm-8:00 pm.  A water pipe broke at the house next door, and they shut our water off to fix it!!

Here's some pictures of Everett with the kids during the past 4 years.  Chloe helped me pick out the music.  These are a couple of her favorites.  It is short enough for just one song, but she wanted both songs! :)

  We love you!

The Wizard of Oz

My mom and I took Chloe to see The Wizard of Oz today at Fair Park.  Chloe loved the play and sat there the entire time watching them sing and dance.

I was about to take a picture of my mom and Chloe in the aisle when a nice man offered to take a picture of all 3 of us!

This is my mom and Chloe right before the show started!!

This is Chloe after the show.  She kept telling us how much she had liked it and how she wanted to go back again tomorrow!  She loved Dorthy and now wants to be Dorthy for Halloween!  She has already planned what characters we will all be.  "Kyle will be the lion, daddy will be the tin man, Homer will be Toto, grandma will be the nice witch, mommy will be....."  She never did decide what I would be, but I was hoping she would not say the bad witch!

Our Family

Here is a picture Chloe drew of our family. I think she did a good job on everyone...except Homer looks like a jellyfish. :)

Our Weather Damage

UGH!  The negative of having a house...REPAIRING it and what's around it!

Here is what the storm did to our fence tonight!  We are so thankful that this is all the damage we got.  It was so bad outside....trees going sideways and sirens going off....I had the kids hidden in the bathroom for 15 minutes, and the grocery store wouldn't let Everett leave!

The positive thing about rain....it puts kids right to sleep!  Chloe and Kyle were sound asleep before 7:45!

2009 Red White and Blues Festival!

Chloe with Karlee and Baby Brynlee

On Saturday night, we headed on out to the Red, White and Blues Festival that our community holds each June! The festival has activities for kids, live music and a fireworks show at the end. The best thing is that it is all free except for food and drinks! :)

This year, we went with the Jeremy, Kamie, Karlee and Baby Brynlee who live down the road. We went out on their boat and watched the fireworks from the lake!

So fun!

Kyle counts to 10! :)

Kyle is now counting to 10, and I did not know it until he did it for us tonight!

He must have learned it from all the times I counted to 10 when he was in time-out.

He had to have been listening to me much more than I thought he had.

He loves to say the numbers "7, 8, 9, 10".
