Hook 'em HORNS!

What a great game! After Saturday's win against OU, we are #1.

Hope it stays that way! We have such a hard schedule in the weeks to come.

We love our LONGHORNS!

Our Little Model!

Last weekend, we were at the mall, and they had a model search. We signed Chloe up, and she got to walk down a runway and pose for a picture.

Poor little thing froze up on stage, but she was so brave to keep walking and smiling in front of those hundreds of people. Really....there were hundreds! I couldn't believe how many were there! We talked to some who had driven from Tyler, Waco, and even Oklahoma to be there!
Some kids were walked down the stage by their parents, and I asked her if she needed me to help her, but she said she wanted to do it all by herself!

Here's a little video of Chloe walking down the stage. :)

Twin Baby Shower!

Chloe took a few of Madison, and this is her favorite one.

I took this one of Chloe.  She looked way too cute...I had to have a picture of her, too!

My cousin, Brandon, and his wife, Heather, are expecting twins in January!

We went to her baby shower last weekend.

Chloe had a great time playing with her cousin, Madison, during the shower.  They dressed up in princess dresses and played with dolls.

Chloe also kept busy taking all the pictures while Heather opened presents.

Here are some pictures from the shower....a little look at Chloe's photography talent!

Congrats and can't wait to meet Baby Molly and Baby Hayden!!

September 2008

Chloe

Miss Independent:

Chloe is wanting to do most things for herself! It all started one morning a couple of weeks ago when she woke up......I went in her room, and she had already gotten dressed and was brushing her teeth! Then, she wanted to fix her own bowl of cereal. I gave her a cup of cereal and a cup of milk. She poured them in the bowl herself. She kept saying "I'm a big girl!" That day, I had plans to eat lunch with some friends I used to work with. I had planned to drop Chloe and Kyle off at one of those hourly drop-off playcares. I ended up dropping just Kyle off, because Chloe decided she was a big enough girl to go eat with "the big girls". She did great most of the time!

Magazines:

Her favorite thing to look at is toy magazines. When one comes in the mail, she spends hours just going through it and telling us everything she wants. I doubt she remembers most of what she tells us. She points to something and says, "That would be good for me." Then, she looks up at us to see what we'll say. I went online and ordered her some toy magazines.

School:

She loves it! It's fun to hear about what she is learning!

Kyle

Talking:

Most of the time when he wants something, he says "Mama mama mama mama."

Homer (our dog) is "Momer" or "Momo"

"Go bye-bye"

"ook a da"(Look at that!)......He said this a few times when he was pointing to the stars in the sky.

Most of what he says is very hard to understand, but he is really trying!

Cars:

His favorite thing right now is cars. He rolls them all over the ground and tables and makes a "vroom" sound as he does it.

Running in the Grass:

He loves running in the grass. Whenever we get home from anywhere, we let him out of the car, and he runs all through our grass, up and down the front steps and then back to the garage to go in the house.

1st Day of Preschool

Chloe started preschool today at her "new school".  She always calls it her "new school" whenever we drive by.  She was so excited to go!  She walked right in, put her backpack away and did what her teacher told her to do.  I stood outside the class for a few minutes just to watch.

When I picked her up, she had the biggest smile on her face.  I could tell that she wanted to tell me all about it!  She told me about reading books, playing with playdough, playing in sand, getting a smiley stamp, having a snack, and using the little potty.  She kept very busy during those 3 hours!!

Kyle is 18 months old!!

Here's the 18 month pic in the rocking chair. I said I would stop taking these at 12 months, but I thought I would take just one more! :)

Look at how he has grown!

Kyle turned 18 months old on Saturday. He had his 18 month appointment today, and here are his current stats!

WEIGHT:  28.2 lbs. (80%)

HEIGHT:  I don't think his height was measured right.  They measured him standing this time.  He was very wiggly, too.  3 months ago he was 32 1/2 in, and today they measured him as 32 1/4 in.  So, there was a mistake made on one of those times.  I'll have him measured again when we go in for his flu shot.

This was our first visit to the new pediatrician. We really liked her! Our last doctor moved away in March.

Things Kyle does:

He now puts himself in time-out when he knows he has done something wrong.....Not sure how effective time-outs will be for him. He doesn't mind them much at all!

He loves light switches. He reaches up for someone to hold him just so he can turn the light on or off.

He still takes 2 naps. I am trying to get him away from the 2nd nap just so we aren't tied to the house every morning. He loves that nap, and if I have him skip it to do errands, then he is not a happy little guy anymore!

He is very active. He does not slow down from the moment he wakes up until he goes to sleep. That's why he is such a great sleeper...he wears himself out!

New Favorite foods:

Popcorn: He loves this, but it is such a hassle, because I go through the bag inspecting each one he eats to make sure he won't break a tooth.

Chips

He LOVES any kind of fruit! The other night, he ate club crackers, blueberries, grapes, strawberries and a banana for dinner.

New things he says:

"ha" for hi

"ba" for ball

"num-num" for yum-yum

"goo-da" for good job

"ba-bi-ba" for basketball

He points to nose and eyes.

He is still very good-natured! He smiles all the time!

Chloe's Gym Class

Chloe was promoted to the next gym class.  She has been listening to her coach and following all of the obstacles very well.  She is now in a class with 4 and 5 year olds.  She did awesome her first day with the new group, so we'll see if she is able to continue to keep up with them.

Here is a video of her year and a half in her gym class.  It starts out in February 2007 when we were in a 'Mommy and Me' class.  However, on this particular day, it became a 'Daddy and Me' class, because I was having a hard time keeping up with her when I was 9 months pregnant with Kyle!

Laughter

Children's laughter.....Isn't it the best sound?

Kyle was laughing so hard today when Chloe was building towers of blocks and knocking them down. He was laughing so much that he was having a hard time finishing his lunch.  I wish I could have gotten more of his laughing, but by the time I got the camera turned on, he was slowing down.

Hope you smile as much as I did! :)

CIRCUS!

Everett and I took Chloe to the Circus on Saturday. Kyle stayed home with Grandma Julie.

We watched the elephants, tigers, acrobats, tightrope walkers, dogs doing tricks, and a human canon! Chloe's favorite parts were the clowns riding around in cars and the little dogs doing all their tricks for us. She also loved eating Twizzlers and Popcorn!

The show was over 2 hours long.  Chloe had fun the whole time!  We did, too!  We realized that it was a good thing Kyle was not there....he never would have sat still that long for anything!  He might be ready to go in a few years!

On another happy note....We'd like to wish my parents a very Happy 46th  Anniversary today.  Hope you are having fun on your trip!

Summer 2008

No harm done.....He fell, and then sat right back on for some more fun!

This is how Kyle gets from here to everywhere.....RUNNING!

How have we come along on our summer goals? Some are goals for both of us, but most are mine! :)

Chloe swimming across the pool: YES

Baby books up-to-date: YES

I have already filled one whole book full of Chloe. I will have to buy another book to continue on! Kyle's book is getting very full, too, and he is only 18 months old! These little ones just do so much during the first few years! I guess how some people love to scrapbook....I love to work on baby books! :)

Hardware (doorknobs, cabinet knobs, hinges...) replaced in house: Most of it is done! We just need to get some new faucets!

Master Bedroom painted: NO

Read 3 books: NOPE.....I started on my first one last week (for the new book club I'm in)....Hopefully, I'll get to the other 2 by the end of the year.

2008 pictures put in an album: YES

Getting home video on DVDs: YES

I had 18 months of home video on the computer taking up all the space. I was afraid that our computer would crash, and I would lose it all!! I was finally able to get them on DVDs. Yeah!

Kyle feeds himself with a spoon: STILL WORKING ON THAT ONE

VIDEO

Here's some video of the kids this month! It might look like from this 4 minutes of video that we stayed home all month, but we did get out quite a bit!
