September 2012

September has been a busy month!

Everett has been continuing his physical therapy from his back surgery.  He is hoping to get back on his bike in a few weeks.  He has done better taking it easier this time around, so hopefully there will be no more surgeries in the future.

We celebrated our 11 year anniversary!

I have been busy with PTA at the kids' school and being room mom for Kyle's class.  So far, being room mom has been fun and has not been as difficult as I thought it would be.  There are times during the month where it takes more time, but overall, it has been fun getting to know all the kindergarteners and be in the loop about what is going on.

Chloe loves 2nd grade!  She is always looking forward to going to school.  She wasn't feeling well one day, and I told her she could stay home, but she wasn't having that!  She's afraid of missing anything!  She also keeps busy with soccer and gymnastics outside of school.  She is doing rec soccer again instead of club, and she loves it!  We will stay with this a couple years, and then we will decide whether to go back to club again.  It was just a little too soon for her!  She will start her gymnastics competitions in January, and we can't wait to see her perform!  Her favorite thing to do in gymnastics is the bars.  Watching the Olympics was so fun this year.  She was critiquing all the gymnasts!

Kyle has had a great start to kindergarten!  He loves his teacher, so that makes going to school so much easier!  He only moved his clip 2 times , and that is great for these little ones getting to know the routine!  He is aiming for no clip moves this six weeks!  He is busy with soccer outside of school!  He is still playing on the same team, the Sidekicks!  His favorite position is defending and he is great at it!  At home, he loves to play with Star Wars figures, play games on the IPad, play the computer and play outside with his sisters!

Carissa started a two day per week class at the preschool right by our house.  She looks forward to going when I tell her she is going to school that morning.  She has had no problems separating!  We also started a Mommy-and-me gym class on Monday mornings at Excite where Chloe does gym.  She has so many things she says now that we have lost count.  Some of the new ones...milk-nak (I want milk and a snack), go nigh-nigh (says this when she is sleepy), ba-pa (grandpa), hi mama, hi daddy, apple-ta (applesauce), pees (please), and up pees (up please).  She pats our shoulders or our faces, she nods her head whenever she agrees with something, she loves to scribble on paper and sits in a big chair to do it, and she loves carrying around everyone's shoes!  She will go get all of our shoes and put them by our feet when she is wanting to go outside.

1st Day of School!

Chloe and Kyle started school on August 27th!  Kyle was so excited to be at the BIG school with Chloe!  They love seeing eachother in the halls.  They sometimes they hold out their hands to eachother, go hug or just smile as their classes pass.  They both had a great 1st six weeks...now we are just waiting on those report cards to come out on Friday to see how great!

Carissa is attending an 18 month class on Tuesday and Thursday morning.  Her first day of school was on September 4th.  She goes right in with no problem!  When I wake her up in the morning and tell her she is going to school, she gets excited and wants to wear her backpack around the house until we leave the house!  Her favorite thing about school, I think, is snacktime.  Whenever she gets in the car after school, I ask her if she had a good time, and she nods her head while saying "nak".

Carissa's Room

I have been thinking a long time about Carissa's room and knowing I needed to do more with it.  It has been in a transition period for a long long time!  I didn't know if I wanted to go ahead and fix it up now knowing that next year I wanted her and Kyle to switch rooms, or to just wait until then.  I couldn't take it anymore, so went for it now! I didn't want there to be 2 pink bedrooms, so I decorated Carissa's in purple.  Her theme is Purple Butterflies with some of her lambs in it from her baby theme.:)  It's been fun!

OLD ROOM

NEW ROOM
It is not completely done yet, but we are well on our way now.

The windows will be finished next month!

June-July 2012

June and July have been filled with vacation, swim team, gymnastics, soccer, basketball, Vacation Bible School and movies.

Carissa has done well just going with the flow despite all the interruptions to her normal schedule.  She is down to one nap a day on most days, is starting to feed herself with a spoon, her favorite foods are goldfish, bananas and applesauce, loves puzzles, books, balls, and dancing!

These are things she is saying:
uh oh
no no
hi
nana (banana)
mil (milk)
dada
mama
ba (ball)
bu (book)
bite
dedo (her blanket)
nigh-nigh
bye and bye-bye
e-mo (Elmo)

pa: plane

She has said a few 2 word phrases:  "want bite", "hi dada", "bye dada"

Sisters

Carissa did everything to get Chloe to pay attention to her....patted her, stepped on her, sat on her, played with her foot, but the hug is what did it.  Chloe loves it when her baby sister gives her hugs.:)
